Smart Choice Rebates
KEC offers energy efficiency rebates to members for the following products (see below for rebate forms): Water Heaters: for Marathon Water Heaters (50-gallon and larger) receive a $150 rebate. For standard water heaters the rebate is $50. See conditions below. Tank must be energy efficient in order to qualify. The energy factor can be found at: Consumers' Directory of Certified Efficiency Rating or call KEC for assistance. 50 Gallon – EF.93 65 Gallon – EF.91 75 Gallon – EF.92 80 Gallon – EF.91 105 Gallon – EF.91 Over 105 gallon – EF.85 or greater ENERGY Star® Clotheswashers – With an electric water heater and an MEF of 1.72 or greater - $70. Non-electric water heaters - $25. See ENERGY STAR or call KEC for assistance. ENERGY Star® Dishwashers - $25 See ENERGY STAR for assistance. ENERGY Star® Refrigerators/Freezers - $25 See ENERGY STAR or call KEC for assistance ENERGY Star® Homes – Depending on construction and heating system, rebate starts at $850.00 to as much as $2,000. Home must have a heat pump installed to Energy Star specifications in order to qualify. See Northwest ENERGY STAR or call KEC for more information. ENERGY Star® Manufactured Homes (NEEM) - $1,000 See ENERGY STAR Heat Pump Rebates (installed by a certified PTCS contractor only). Rebate eligibility: Level 1: Smart Choice HSPF 8.5/SEER 14 = $ 300 Level 2: PTCS Commissioning + Smart Choice = $ 965 Level 3: PTCS Commissioning + PTCS Duct Tightening + Smart Choice = $ 1,690

Kootenai Electric Cooperative hereby disclaims any and all implied or express warranties (including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose), and shall not be responsible for any presentation or promise with respect to the equipment, materials, or labor required for the installation of the equipment on the premises, or the cost of such equipment, materials and labor. Kootenai Electric Cooperative is providing funding under this Agreement at the request of the Participant. Because of the variability and uniqueness of individual energy use, it is not possible to predict exact energy savings (if any) that may accrue to any particular participant. Kootenai Electric Cooperative, by providing funding, does not warrant that the equipment will achieve any reduction in energy costs to the Participant. 2. Release. As part of the consideration of this Agreement, Participant hereby releases and shall indemnify, hold harmless and defend Kootenai Electric Cooperative from any and all claims, losses, harm, costs, liabilities, damages and expenses (including attorneys’ fees) of any nature whatsoever arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with the installation of energy efficiency equipment at the premises or any materials and labor required for such installation. 3. Verifications. Kootenai Electric Cooperative and/or the Bonneville Power Administration shall have the right to verify equipment installed on the Participants’ premises.
